Winter Mood
True landscape photography is often about what you choose to leave out of the frame. On a freezing, drizzly morning, the fog naturally simplified the background, highlighting the graphic silhouette of the backlit beech tree against the golden grass. Because the winter sky was far too bright and distracting for a balanced exposure, I utilised a telephoto lens to compress the scene. By isolating just a fraction of the landscape, the composition shifts focus away from the chaotic horizon and into the delicate, quiet details of the forest.
