True landscape photography rewards those who linger after the initial magic has passed. Roughly an hour after capturing the fiery sunrise behind Moulin de Moidrey, the sun climbed higher, and the atmosphere shifted entirely. I chose a high-contrast monochrome conversion to isolate the raw drama of the elements. Patience was the key to this composition; just as the heavy morning clouds threatened to close in, these spectacular sunbeams broke through the fractured sky, casting a theatrical curtain of light over the historic mill.
