Photography is often a patient game of waiting for the perfect alignment of independent elements. Having already set up my tripod and locked in the composition of this fallen, skeletal tree, I spent some time watching the sky. The air was crisp and blue, punctuated only by a few drifting, fluffy clouds. I waited until one singular cloud floated into the frame, precisely where the tree’s upward-reaching branch points toward the sky — a rewarding moment where nature and calculated composition seamlessly met.
