Chasing Light in the Countryside

Landscape photography is often enriched by the unexpected connections we make along the way. While setting up my tripod by the edge of this vast field, my presence caught the attention of the friendly French land owner, who came over to observe my work. The rewards of that quiet afternoon are evident in the composition; a heavy, dramatic ceiling of clouds creates a striking backdrop for a solitary tree and adjacent hay bales, all perfectly spotlighted by the setting sun to carve out a beautiful depth across the rolling terrain.
