Eldborg Vulcano Crater

The perfectly shaped Eldborg volcano crater is a magnificent explosion crater nestled within the Snæfellsnes peninsula of Iceland. Capturing this ancient geologic feature requires a fine art balance between patience and absolute alertness. Under a heavy, brooding sky that threatened to engulf the entire landscape, I waited for the elements to shift. Suddenly, for a brief, fleeting moment, a small gap fractured the cloud cover. A brilliant beam of evening sunlight broke through, spotlighting the volcanic crest against the dark horizon.
